White Plains, NY - Westchester voters now have a powerful tool at their fingertips this voting season; personalized election information. The League of Women Voters® of Westchester has updated their interactive website to include current non-partisan information on candidates, polling places, candidate forums as well as state and local initiatives.
The website, www.Smartvoter.org, offers everything one needs to know from the local level to the Presidential race.
The site offers a breadth of information; from general information regarding registration and absentee ballots to certain candidates’ positions on issues. One of the most useful aspects of this site is the voters’ ability to view the actual ballot before going to the voting booth. This enables the voter to vote quickly and knowledgably. The interactive aspect of the site allows voters to input their zip code to find their polling place as well as voting hours and contested races. Results of past elections can be found as well. For voters who wish a deeper understanding of the candidates’ platforms the website also lists the candidate forums which the League moderates throughout the county.
The League of Women Voters®, a non-partisan grassroots organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and=2 0influences public policy through education and advocacy. Membership is open to all citizens of voting age. Please visit www.LWVWestchester.org and lwv.org for more information.
