Yonkers, NY - The Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District will present Let’s Dance Downtown!, an evening of dancing at the world-famous, historic Roosevelt Ballroom in the Philipsburgh Building, 2-8 Hudson Street, Yonkers, from 7:30 to 10:00 PM, Friday, March 28.
The fun-filled dance extravaganza will feature D.J. music by Pinilla Entertainment. The admission cost is $15, payable at the door. Drinks and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Built in 1904, the Beaux Arts-style Roosevelt Ballroom was recently renovated including a brand new dance floor, considered to be one of the most unique in the region.
Let’s Dance Downtown! is one of several new and exciting events that the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront BID is introducing this year as part of its mission to promote the downtown district which is undergoing revitalization.
Steve Sansone, Executive Director of the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront BID, states that “Dancing is one of the most popular social activities and a great way to spend an evening. Fortunately, we are blessed here in downtown Yonkers to have this one-of-a-kind dance space at the Roosevelt Ballroom. It’s not only perfect for dancing but can comfortably accommodate a good-sized crowd.”
He added: “The ongoing renewal of downtown Yonkers—which is attracting new businesses, residents and visitors— is creating a growing need for diverse attractions that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront BID is continually exploring new ways and opportunities to meet that challenge. We think Let’s Dance Downtown! will prove to be another one of our popular offerings.”
The Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront BID also sponsors the highly successful annual Riverfest and outdoor summer “Main Street Film Series at Dusk” and the “Jazz and Blues at Dusk” concerts.
The Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District was created to promote and implement the economic vitality of the District and the City of Yonkers.
