The three events in the Classroom Building, Room 200 are free.
TINY NINJA THEATER’S TREASURE ISLAND
Thursday, October 2 10:00 am & 11:00 am
Dov Weinstein’s Tiny Ninja Theater is Manhattan’s best fringe theatre. Well known for its well-traveled productions of Shakespearian tragedies, inch-high plastic ninjas and assorted dime-store figures perform. Now gingerly wading into the muddy waters of novelic adaptation, the Robert Louis Stevenson classic, Treasure Island, is interactively brought to the stage experience.
JOHN “SURVIVOR” BLAKE
Tuesday, November 11 10:00 am & 11:00 am
Blake made huge waves in the performance poetry scene when he started hitting the stage with his powerful words built on hard knocks and amazingly dramatic life experiences. He endures as one of the most poignant and artful spoken word poets of his generation. Most recently, the poet was on the 2007 NYC Louder Arts poetry slam team placing third in the national competition.
CHRISTINE TIMM
Tuesday, December 2 10:00 am & 11:00 am
This NYC-based performance poet, known for her poetry music/dance works, has been featured at Manhattan’s Yippie Museum and Bowery Poetry Club. Her poetry appears in journals such as Arabesques, Polarity, and the Long Island Quarterly. She co-hosts and co-produces the New York College Poetry Slam, the Westchester Poetry Slam, and Smalls Jazz Club Lit Series. She is Associate Professor of English at Westchester Community College, where she curates the Poets and Writers series.
