Pleasantville, NY - Summit Music Festival presents its 18th summer season of chamber music and instrumental training, under the artistic direction of Efrem Briskin, David Chan and David Krieger, from July 27th through August 17th.
Its new location is the beautiful new Creative Arts Center auditorium, at Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase, N.Y.
Guest artists, prestigious faculty members and students from Europe, Asia and America will study and perform together. Students, who are admitted by audition only, range from high school and college to adult avocational musicians, who will have the opportunity to engage in a concentrated instrumental and chamber music program. In addition, Summit Music Festival features a daily array of special events such as: afternoon and evening concerts, lectures and master classes in violin, viola, cello, piano, woodwinds and harpsicord throughout the three week program.
All programs and student scholarships are made possible, in part, through grants from the Smart Foundation and the Westchester Arts Council with funds from Westchester County Government. Pianos are provided by Yamaha.
The first concert will be open to the public free of charge. Each additional concert ticket is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students. They will be available for purchase at the box office.
