Rye, NY - The lower Westchester-based “Reunion” band will be bringing back musical memories at their Rye Town Park Concert on Tuesday, July 7th. The concert will be held from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Park’s South Pavilion, across from the administration building near Dearborn Avenue.
The concert is the second in Rye Town Park’s five concert series, co-sponsored by the Friends of Rye Town Park. Admission is free, as is parking after 6 p.m. All the concerts are held on Tuesday evenings at the same time.
Reunion is a ten-piece band playing all the great R&B, rock, and disco from the 60’s and 70’s, along with everyone’s favorite standards of the big band era. Their strength is their driving horn section, solid rhythm section, along with two vocalists. They have worked clubs throughout the Tri-State area, along with many of Westchester’s top country clubs.
The concert series is part of Rye Town Park’s centennial celebrations. The park first opened in the summer of 1909, when such songs as “By The Light of the Silvery Moon”, “I Wonder Who’s Kissing Her Now,” and “She Sells Sea Shells” were popular.
People are welcome to bring picnic suppers, or they can dine at the nearby Seaside Johnnie’s restaurant. Some seating will be provided, but blankets or beach chairs are recommended. The concert will be held rain or shine.
The parking entrance to Rye Town Park is located on Dearborn Avenue south of the intersection with Forest Avenue.
