Mt. Kisco, NY - A new one-person show titled Pursuing Light with oil paintings by Croton-on-Hudson artist Chris Magadini opens with a reception on Saturday, January 24, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gallery in the Park at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River.
The exhibit highlights contemporary impressions of Hudson Valley scenes awash in light. From a street corner in Peekskill to a farm road in Cortlandt, Magadini’s work masterfully captures the illusion of space and form while retaining a beautiful surface and luminous color. A walk among his paintings refreshes and adds sparkle to the magic of our unique, beautiful region.
A former illustrator, Chris Magadini’s credits include covers for Reader's Digest and Field & Stream magazines and illustrations in many others. He has designed stamps, illustrated books and taught at local colleges and the New York School for Visual Arts.
“Pursuing Light” will be on exhibit daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 30. Admission is free; parking is $4 with a Westchester County Park Pass, $8 without the pass.
The Gallery in the Park is part of the Westchester County Art in Parks program that brings changing exhibitions of sculpture, paintings, murals and other forms of artwork to Westchester County Parks for the appreciation of visitors of all ages.
