Westchester Entertainment NewsMt. Kisco, NY - Pulse 87.7, New York’s new dance music radio station, is taking its music from the studio to you with a free concert at Playland Park on Friday, July 18, at 8 p.m.

The concert features Michelle Williams, Kim Sozzi, George LaMond and DJ Serg spinning on the 1s and 2s.

Michelle Williams, best known for being one third of the smash hit group Destiny’s Child, is proving that she can make a name for herself going solo. She will perform songs from her upcoming album Unexpected, slated for an August release. Her recent singles “We Break the Dawn” and “Stop This Car” highlight her unique mix of R&B, pop and gospel singing styles.

Long Island native Kim Sozzi was born into a family of musicians and entertainers. Her grandmother sang opera, her father was a Latin percussionist and her mother a professional dancer. Kim is one of the most frequently requested artists on Pulse 87.7 and has topped the charts with hit singles like “Feelin’ Me” and “Break Up,” successfully following in the footsteps of her family.

Ever since the late ‘80s, George LaMond has been scoring hits, ranking high on both the Billboard Top 100 and Hot Dance Club charts. Though his style has evolved over the years, he can still get a party going with his mix of dance, reggaeton, bacchata and salsa.

The event will also feature deejay, remix artist and producer DJ Serg who has worked with such famous artists as Blondie and Paula Abdul among others. He will be spinning some of your favorite hits and keeping the party going throughout the event.

Admission to Playland and the concert is free; weekday parking is $5 per car.

Seating is limited. Bring blankets and chairs for lawn seating.

This event is sponsored by Pepsi Cola, Manhattan Beer Distributors, Friends of Westchester County Parks and CulinArt.

Playland, now celebrating its 80th season, is owned and operated by Westchester County Parks. Playland Park is America’s first totally planned amusement park and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

Playland is located in Rye, New York, and can be reached via the New England Thruway (I-95), Playland Parkway exit 19. For more information, call 914-813-7010 or visit Playland at www.ryeplayland.org.
