Westchester Arts & Entertainment NewsTarrytown, NY - Red Lotus Productions presents Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway, a concert to benefit World Hunger Year staged at Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, New York on Saturday, May 24th.

Founded in 1975, WHY is a leader in the fight against hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. WHY is convinced that solutions to hunger and poverty can be found at the grassroots level. WHY advances long-term solutions to hunger and poverty by supporting community-based organizations that empower individuals and build self-reliance, i.e., offering job training, education and after school programs; increasing access to housing and healthcare; providing microcredit and entrepreneurial opportunities; teaching people to grow their own food; and assisting small farmers. WHY connects these organizations to funders, media and legislators. At WHY, we envision a world without hunger and poverty. If we can shift the prevailing viewpoint on why hunger and poverty exist, then we can influence the policymakers and put an end to this human tragedy. WHY is a not-for-profit registered 501(c)(3) organization founded by radio talk show host and present Executive Director Bill Ayres and the late singer-songwriter Harry Chapin. www.WorldHungerYear.org

100 Years of Broadway recreates the biggest moments from the biggest shows of the century, featuring the actual stars of shows such as "The Phantom of the Opera," "Les Miserables," "CATS," "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Jekyll & Hyde." These amazing performers light up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred, as well as other notable Broadway shows. Berg presents brilliantly revived arrangements of Broadway classics, as well as fantastic numbers from Broadway's newest hit shows. The show features a dazzling cast of six Broadway stars accompanied by an all-star New York band.

The lineup includes Ray Mcleod; Ray has worked in shows with such stars as Michael Crawford (Dance of the Vampires), Placido Domingo (Metropolitan and Los Angeles Operas), and Will Smith (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). However, his daughters only know him from his work with Disney on the soundtracks: Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Pocahontas.

Carter Calvert; Previously Ms. Calvert was seen in the World Premiere of Forbidden Vegas in a role she originated. Credits include the Broadway, Original Cast Album and touring productions of It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues. Off-Broadway she appeared in Forbidden Broadway and "The Thing About Men," and played Grizabella in the national tour of "Cats."

Erick Buckley; Erick was the first person in the world to perform both the roles of Marius and Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables:, Piangi in "Andrew Loyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera", Dave in "The Full Monty", Roger in the broadway revival of "Grease!" and more... Rita Harvey; Broadway debut performing the lead role of Christine Daee in The Phantom of the Opera. Currently Hodel in 'Fiddler on the Roof." Danny Zolli; Although best known for his monumental number of performances as Jesus, Judas, and Annas in more than 18 productions of "Jesus Christ Superstar" throughout the world, he has also been continuing to thrill audiences with his work on the concert stage and in the recording studio.

The event will also feature a mixed group of talented high school students chosen from various schools in Westchester. Students join the cast in singing the last number, “Seasons of Love,” from the hit musical RENT.

Neil Berg is the composer/lyricist of the hit off-Broadway musical "The Prince and the Pauper," which ran for two years at the Lamb's Theater in New York City. The New York Times described it as "...soaring on the wings of theatrical fun." As a producer Neil has produced hundreds of Broadway concerts across the world with such stars as Michael Crawford, Rita Moreno, Bernadette Peters, Ben Vereen, Betty Buckley, Donna McKechnie, Liz Callaway, Eden Espinosa and many other greats. He will be touring over 160 cities in 2007-2009 with his hit show “Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway". Neil was the Producing Artistic Director of The Broadway Series at the world famous China Club in NYC, and is now the Producer/Artistic Director of "Broadway Rocks", starting in 2008 at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC in partnership with World Hunger Year.

Red Lotus Productions and WHY is proud to have Hudson Valley Bank sponsor the event.
