Mt. Kisco, NY - If you think your band has what it takes to get out on the stage and rock the Westchester County Center, send a sample of your best music and you may win your group a spot in the annual Battle of the Bands in January at the County Center in White Plains.
Music samples must be received at the County Parks Department by Wednesday, December 19.
To be eligible, all members of the group must be amateur musicians between the ages of 15 and 20. Samples submitted can be either original compositions or the band’s versions of the music of other artists either on cassette tape or CD. All submissions will be reviewed for eligibility by a panel of judges and those chosen for the competition will be notified. All samples must include a separate sheet of paper with the band’s name, members’ names, addresses and ages, the name of the song or songs played on the tape or CD, and daytime and evening telephone numbers of the member who will act as the contact person.
The winning bands will perform at the Battle of the Bands on Saturday, January 26, 2008. The overall winner of the competition will win a grand prize.

The Battle of the Bands is presented by Westchester County Parks, in cooperation with the county’s Youth Officers’ Association and STOP-DWI program, 107.1 The Peak, Acme Recording Studios and the Friends of Westchester County Parks, Inc.
