 Purchase, NY - On Tuesday evening, December 8 at 8:00 P.M., the Manhattanville College Cabaret Performance Workshop, sponsored by the Departments of Music and Dance and Theatre, will present CABARET IN THE CASTLE.
The performance will take place in the West Room of Reid Hall on the College’s Campus at 2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, New York. Admission is free and open to the public.
The program will feature the lyrics of Johnny Mercer, winner of four Academy Awards for Best Song. His collaborators included Harold Arlen, Henry Mancini, Hoagy Carmichael and Harry Warren. He was also a composer of note himself. Songs will include Dream, Moon River, Skylark, Autumn Leaves, Come Rain or Come Shine and On the Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe. Also featured will be songs by Alan Menken, Stephen Sondheim, Cy Coleman and Dave Frishberg.
The program is under the direction of Artist-in-Residence Mark Cherry and assistant director, Beverly Meyer. There will be a special guest appearance by Manhattanville’s pop vocal group, The Quintessentials.
