Local Artists Group Presents Exhibition

Westchester Arts & Entertainment NewsScarsdale, NY - On Saturday, October 10th,  the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Active Artists group will present a group exhibition of works entitled "Inspiration In Nature" at the Greenburgh Nature Center.

This multi-media art exhibit will showcase the works of twelve different group members and will include works of photography, watercolor, oil, paint on silk using fabric dye, and chalk and pastel.

The opening reception on October 10th will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and is free to the general public. Refreshments will be served. The Exhibit will continue through Tuesday, December 1st. Most of the art works will be available for purchase.

Arlene August, Elmsford, NY; Selena Barron, Hartsdale, NY; Barbara Bernstein, Briarcliff Manor, NY; Rose Cardillo, Tarrytown, NY; Barbara Gochman, Croton, NY; Wilma Gitchel, Tarrytown, NY; Phyllis Gracer, Yorktown Heights, NY; Jean Havens, Mount Kisco, NY; Barbara McNear, Hastings-on-Hudson; Berenice Pliskin, White Plains, NY; Janice Ruotola, Scarborough, NY; and Barbara Schalllmo, Yonkers, NY.

Since 1881, AAUW (formerly known as the American Association of University Women) has been the nation's leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls. AAUW has a nationwide network of nearly 100,000 members, 1,000 branches, and 500 college/univesity institution partners. Its mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.

The Greenburgh Nature Center is a 33-acre woodland preserve with trails, pond, gardens, and outdoor animal exhibits, including a birds of prey aviary.  Our indoor exhibits include a live animal museum with over 100 specimens, exhibit areas focusing on nature and the environment, a greenhouse with botanical exhibits, and a gift shop.

The Center is located at 99 Dromore Road, off Central Park Avenue, in Scarsdale, NY. Parking is free, and handicapped parking is available. The center’s grounds are open daily dawn to dusk throughout the year. The Center’s indoor exhibits are open daily except Fridays and a few holidays, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on weekends.
