Scarsdale, NY - The Hoff-Barthelson Music School is proud to announce that Edna Golandsky will conduct a piano Master Class at the Music School on Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 pm.
Master Class coaching by distinguished guest artists has been a part of the Music School’s curriculum since its founding sixty-five years ago in 1944.
Edna Golandsky is the leading exponent of the Taubman Approach. She has earned wide acclaim for her extraordinary ability to solve technical problems and for her penetrating musical insight. Performers and students from around the world come to study, coach and consult with Ms. Golandsky. She has lectured and conducted master classes at many prestigious music institutions, including the Eastman School of Music, Yale University, Curtis Institute of Music and Oberlin Conservatory, and in Korea, Israel, and Canada.
Ms. Golandsky formed the Golandsky Institute, which is dedicated to the advancement of the Taubman Approach. The DVD of her lectures and master class entitled The Art of Rhythmic Expression has received praise around the world. Clavier reviewers noted it as “an informative and inspiring tool, presented in a convincing manner by an excellent teacher.” Don Glanden, Piano Chairman, University of the Arts, writes, “Her pianism is extraordinary . . . and she swings!”
The Hoff-Barthelson Music School, one of Westchester County’s most cherished and active cultural resources, has achieved national recognition as a premier community music school for its unsurpassed leadership in education, performance and outreach for more than half a century.
