Scarsdale, NY - The Hoff-Barthelson Music School is pleased to present cellist Peter Seidenberg on Friday, April 11 at 8 pm at Scarsdale Community Baptist Church, Popham and Autenrieth Roads, in Scarsdale.
Mr. Seidenberg will be joined by guest artists pianist Hui-Mei Lin and Jeremy Goldsmith, clarinet.
Cellist Peter Seidenberg has played throughout Europe, the U.S. and Asia as a soloist and chamber musician. He made his debut with the Chicago Symphony, and has appeared with the DePaul Chamber Orchestra, the New American Chamber Orchestra and the Century Symphony of Osaka, Japan. He has performed with pianists Richard Goode, Andreas Schiff and Mitsuko Uchida, among others, and has participated in the Marlboro, Aspen, and Norfolk summer festivals. Mr. Seidenberg is the cellist of the Queen’s Chamber Band.
Hui-Mei Lin made her New York solo debut at Weill Recital Hall as the winner of the Young Artists International Competition. Concert tours have taken her to Italy, Canada and various cities in her native Taiwan. As a chamber musician she has collaborated with the New Hungarian Quartet, the Peregrine Trio, cellist Carter Brey, and flutist Robert Stallman. Her media appearances include solo performances on PBS, WQXR and China Broadcast.
Jeremy Goldsmith holds a B. Mus. From Manhattanville College and a M. Mus from Manhattan School of Music. His clarinet studies were with Carl Hane, John Moses (Aspen Music Festival) and Kalmen Opperman. He has performed widely in the N. Y. Metropolitan area in various orchestral and chamber music settings, and is also an accomplished recorder player. Mr. Goldsmith’s principal composition studies were with Ronald Herder and Ludmila Ulehla. He has written and had performances of works ranging from piano preludes, songs and sonatas, to woodwind quintets and large pieces for chorus and orchestra.
Mr. Seidenberg and Ms. Lin will play Bach’s Sonata in G Major, BWV 1027; Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne; the Brahms Trio in A minor, Opus 114; and Jeremy Goldsmith’s Pastorale.
