Hoff Barthelson Hosts Cellist Steven Doane |

Scarsdale, NY - The Hoff-Barthelson Music School is pleased to welcome cellist Steven Doane on Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 pm for a Master Class with Hoff-Barthelson student cellists.
The class will be held at the Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. It is open free of charge to the public.
Mr. Doane holds the Eisenhart Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Eastman School, where he is on the faculty, and the Piatigorsky Commendation for teaching excellence from the New England Conservatory. A member of the Naumburg Award-winning New Arts Trio during the 1980s, Mr. Doane has built an extensive performance career as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Appearances as guest teacher and performer have twice taken Mr. Doane to the Manchester International Cello Festival. He is also a regular participant at the International Musician's Seminar in Cornwall, England. Mr. Doane is a visiting professor at the Royal College of Music in London. His recording with pianist Barry Snyder won a 1996 NAIRD award from the US music press, the Bridge Sonata was declared "the best performance on record" by BBC Music Magazine.
