Valhalla, NY - Danceworks, the dance company of Westchester Community College, will perform a dance concert for children on Sunday, February 3. A number of dances will be performed for and with area children at a special 3:00 p.m. matinee in the Academic Arts Theatre.
Company Director Mollyann Franzblau has choreographed several dances which will be performed at the event, an annual favorite for children who will be invited to join the dancers on stage.
Danceworks, founded in 1979 by Franzblau (Larchmont) and faculty consultant Jo Robbins (Valley Cottage), performs annually to audiences of approximately 3,000 at the college, throughout the community, and at area festivals. The troupe, which features lighting design by James Britt (Mamaroneck), presents unique combinations of educational and professional presentations of dance as communication.
The Danceworks Company is a diverse ethnic and cultural combination of Westchester Community College students and alumni. For information on tickets ($7 general admission), please phone 914-606–6262 or 914-606–6828.
