 White Plains, NY - Quad Entertainment presents the concert event of the summer with the 2008 Classic R&B Summerfest.
Fans of 70s and 80s R&B Soul will get their groove on to the iconic Temptations Revue featuring Dennis Edwards who will be headlining, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes featuring Sharon Paige, Russell Thompkins Jr. & The New Stylistics, Freddie Jackson, Ray Goodman & Brown and special guests Touch of New York as they perform their greatest hits at the Westchester County Center on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
Hosted by Lenny Green, the velvet voice of Kissing after dark, WKRS, Kiss FM 98.7, this chart-topping line-up offers a night out for the grown and sexy folks who are old enough to remember but young enough to appreciate the classic R&B hits such as the Grammy Award winning "Cloud Nine" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," by the Temptations. Dennis Edwards joined the Temptations in 1968 and performed with the group on and off for almost 20 years. He’s also had a successful solo career with his hit, “Don’t Look Any Further.”
Fans will reminisce as they listen to crowd favorites such as the silky smooth, "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Ray, Goodman & Brown’s “Love on a Two Way Street,” and “Special Lady;” “Betcha By Golly Wow,” by the Stylistics, and “You Are My Lady” and “Tasty Love” by Freddy Jackson who will also treat fans to new tracks from his latest album Transitions.
Special guests, Touch of New York, led by Richard Lagnese, and comprised of seasoned musicians including Gary Brown of Kool and the Gang and Jamelle Jones, singer/song writer who has worked with Patti LaBelle, Ashanti, and Peabo Bryson will delight audiences with tracks from their debut album, due to hit stores in September.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase music from the featured artists from a variety of vendors including a live performance CD by the Temptations Revue featuring Dennis Edwards.
