Peekskill, NY - The Peekskill Education Foundation, Inc. (PEF) and Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA) are holding a a special benefit event Friday, May 30th from 6-9pm in support of the Public Tile Project in Peekskill.
The Public Tile Project involves the creation and design of more than 500 Dutch-style tiles by children in Peekskill, as well as surrounding school districts, and combines not only the art of creating tiles, but the history of the dutch settlement of the area. Once completed, the student designed tiles will be placed in the sidewalks from the Peekskill Train Station through the City to the HVCCA.
In addition to the celebration of Art & Education, there will also be special guest speakers from the Dutch Consulate, music performed by Peekskill High School students and teachers, plus food and refreshments.
