Caramoor Music Festival Presents Chatham County Line
Posted by Westchester.com
Saturday, 14 June 2008

Westchester Entertainment NewsKatonah, NY – Opening weekend of the 63rd annual Caramoor International Music Festival continues on Sunday afternoon, June 22nd at 4:30 p.m. in the Venetian Theater with the Caramoor debut of a quintessentially American bluegrass group, Chatham County Line.

Chatham County Line, hailing from North Carolina, fuses old-time, gather-‘round-the-microphone bluegrass with a love for the progressive sounds of American-made music.  The quartet – Dave Wilson, guitar, vocals; John Teer, mandolin, fiddle, vocals; Chandler Holt, banjo, vocals; Greg Readling, ¾ bass, pedal steel guitar, and vocals – continues the Festival’s tradition of presenting the best in American Roots: Bluegrass.

TICKETS
Tickets for seating in the Venetian Theater for Chatham County Line are $17.50 to $40.00 and may be ordered by calling the Box Office at 914.232.1252 or online at www.caramoor.org

This performance is also one of four designated Caramoor Al Fresco events, offering audience members the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of the concert from the picnic grounds for only $9.00 per ticket.  An ideal way to introduce family audiences to great music, the other Al Fresco events this summer are Buenos Aires Now, an afternoon of Tango music on July 13, the Emerson String Quartet on July 20, and the Caramoor Virtuosi on July 27.  All are Sunday afternoon performances at 4:30 p.m.

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah, New York.

ABOUT CARAMOOR
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is the legacy of Walter and Lucie Rosen, who built the great house and filled it with their treasures. Walter Rosen was the master planner of the Caramoor estate, bringing to reality his dream of building a country home to showcase his decorative arts collection and to entertain friends from around the world.  The Rosens’ musical evenings were the seeds of the International Music Festival of today.  Realizing the pleasure their friends took in Caramoor – the house with its art collection, the gardens, and the musical programs on summer evenings – the Rosens gave it to the public as a center for music and the arts.
