Ossining, NY - Blueberry Pond Theatre Ensemble presents “How Second City Changed the Way America Laughs,” a lecture on the legendary improvisational comedy troupe by award-winning playwright Jeff Sweet.
A launching pad for talents such as Nichols and May, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Alan Arkin and Bill Murray, Second City changed the face of American comedy forever. In the course of a highly entertaining evening, Sweet shares the fascinating story of how that happened, as well as rare video of some of the company’s best sketches and characters.
Playwright, critic, teacher and songwriter, Jeff Sweet is the author of Something Wonderful Right Away, an acclaimed oral history of Second City.
“How American Laughs” will be presented on Saturday, April 26, from 7pm to10pm, with one intermission. Regular tickets are $30; free for membership patrons only.
