Bedford, NY - Wednesday, December 9, at 8:00 p.m., Bedford Chamber Concerts will present Anthony Newman along with a roster of nationally recognized artists performing the incomparable Brandenburg Concerti composed by J.S. Bach.
Displaying an innovative use of a wide spectrum of orchestral instruments, Bach created a set of works that are widely regarded as among the finest of the Baroque era and remain an audience favorite.
Originally composed for the court of Christian Ludwig, the concerti were presented as a gift in the 1700’s but rested unused until the original manuscripts were rediscovered, in an archive, over a century later. The six works of the Brandenburg Concerti are thought to encompass the breadth of Bach’s musical thought, realized at the highest level.
Past concert attendee praise - "The Bedford Chamber concerts are sensational. It is chamber music at the highest quality, live, in a wonderful acoustic environment. It really doesn’t get better than this.”
The concert will take place in the Fellowship Hall of St. Matthew’s Church, 382 Cantitoe Street in Bedford. Refreshments will be served during intermission and are included in the $45 ticket price. For ticket reservations call 914-234-9636.
