He has received the department’s Distinguished, Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards.

After leaving the State Department, Mr. Miller served as president of Seeds of Peace, a non-profit organization, from 2003 to 2006.  He has written three previous books on the Middle East, has made numerous media and speaking appearances, and his articles have been widely published.  He and his family reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

The lecture, which is presented by the annual Gantcher Family Lecture Series, will also include a 10 a.m. breakfast sponsored by the temple’s Men’s Club.
