Rye, NY - The Rye-based Arcadia Jazz Trio (AJT) will be performing at the Rye Town Park south pavilion on Tuesday, July 14th.
The concert will run from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Admission is free, and parking is free after 6:00 p.m.
In keeping with the spirit of the French holiday that celebrates “Liberté, égalité, and fraternité,” AJT’s music is a blending of freedom and ensemble effort, where each member of the trio has the opportunity to share the spotlight.
Led by Rye Arcade Bookstore owner Patrick Corcoran, the AJT has been a fixture in the New York / Connecticut jazz scene for over 10 years. Artists include guitarist Corcoran, bassist Frank Haines and saxophonist/vocalist Scott Wenzel. AJT’s music is a mix of popular American standards and jazz originals that serve as a unique blend -- suitable for easy listening as well as music designed for dancing. This varied approach has led to much praise and recognition from their audiences.
They have performed for events ranging from private parties at the Westchester Country Club and charitable functions to weddings and nightclubs, including the High Street Roadhouse in Rye and the Watercolor Café in Larchmont.
Some seating will be available, but people are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. The concerts will be held rain or shine. Picnicking is welcome, and dining is available at the nearby Seaside Johnnie’s restaurant.
The concert is co-sponsored by the Friends of Rye Town Park. For further information, phone 967-0965 or visit the park’s web site: www.ryetownpark.com
