Valhalla, NY - The Amy Marshall Dance Company presents Klezmer Nutcracker and More on Saturday, December 6 at 8:00 p.m. in Westchester Community College’s Academic Arts Theatre.
The magical dance troupe celebrates a little bit of Hanukkah and a little bit of Christmas. Amy Marshall Dance will make the holiday season joyful by blending the work of Tchaikovsky with the spirited Klezmer arrangements of Shirim. The Hanukkah and Christmas stories are woven into a humorous heartwarming Nutcracker adventure. The Gustav’s Wedding segment gives viewers a glimpse into the lives of a Jewish couple about to be married.
The show has been called “beautiful, complex, and full of nuance.” The company, since its inception in 2000 under Artistic Director Amy Marshall and Executive Director Chad Levy, has taken contemporary dance to new heights through innovative choreography and impassioned performance. Each dance produces a unique expression of intricate patterns, expansive lines, and distinctly brilliant choreography.
Tickets are $20 (general admission), $17 (for students/ seniors) and $12 (for children under 13). For tickets or more information on these shows and many other exciting cultural events, call 914-606-6262.
