Mt. Kisco, NY - Young people ages 15 to 20 will rock the house when eight of the finest bands in the metropolitan area vie for first place at Westchester’s biggest and best arena during the fifth annual Battle of the Bands, Saturday night, January 26, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
From 7:30 p.m. to midnight, eight bands that were chosen from more than 25 audition CDs, will perform on the stage in the Main Hall in front of a live audience. Judging will be conducted by a panel consisting of staff from the parks department and professionals from the music industry; prizes will be awarded to the winning band.

Damsels from Pound Ridge
High Voltage from Ossining
Inspiration States from Mt. Kisco
Knights of the Lunch Table from Katonah
No Goodbyes from Yonkers
Posing for Pennies from South Salem
Temporary Electrostatic Attraction from Yorktown Heights
The winning band will receive six hours of free studio time at Acme Recording Studios in Mamaroneck. All bands will receive a gift certificate from Sam Ash Music in White Plains.
Admission is $3 per person and I.D. is required for entry. Refreshments will be available for sale throughout the evening. The parking fee at the County Center lot will be waived for the event.
The Battle of the Bands is sponsored by Westchester County Parks and the Department of Stop DWI/Public Safety, Friends of Westchester County Parks, Inc., Acme Recording Studios, Inc., Sam Ash Music, and 107.1 the Peak World Class Rock radio.
The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains, at the junction of Route 119 (Tarrytown Road) and the Bronx River Parkway.
