Mt. Kisco, NY - Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the sights and sounds of Yiddish culture at the 35th annual Yiddish Music Festival Sunday, August 17, at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival features great entertainment starting at 5 p.m. with Sasha, a Yiddish folk dancer, who will perform while leading the audience through traditional dances.
Also taking the stage will be Cantor Rebecca Garfeine who will entertain all with traditional Yiddish songs of worship. Musical entertainment will also be provided by Eleanor Reissa, the Klez Dispensers. The music will begin at 6 p.m.
The rain location will be the Jewish Community Center of Harrison located at 130 Union Avenue in Harrison.
Admission and parking are free. Bring blankets or chairs for seating on the lawn.
The 35th annual Yiddish Music Festival is presented by the Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring and New York Region in cooperation with Westchester County Parks. Additional sponsorship has been provided by more than two dozen temples and Jewish community organizations from throughout Westchester.
