Scarsdale, NY - On Sunday, June 7, Ameinu, an American progressive Zionist organization, will present a program about cooperative Jewish-Arab projects in Israel.
Held at Westchester Reform Temple (WRT) in Scarsdale, the program will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.
Included in the day’s program will be a video and discussion about projects run by one of Ameinu’s strategic partners, NISPED (Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Development). Founded in 1998 with a view to promoting peace and development, NISPED has created projects which involve Jewish women from Israel, Negev Bedouin women, and Arab women from the West Bank.
Guest speakers for the program will include Maggie Bar-Tura, Executive Director of the Foundation for Jewish Camps, with introductions by Yoel Magid, Executive Director of Westchester Reform Temple, and Hiam Simon, Executive Director of Ameinu.
An exhibit of artwork by Israeli artist Gabi Kave will be offered, with proceeds being donated to sponsor future seminars of Israeli and Palestinian women. Light Israeli refreshments will be served.
This event, which is co-sponsored by the temple’s Israel Committee and the Women of Reform Judaism, is free and open to the public. Westchester Reform Temple is located at 255 Mamaroneck Road in Scarsdale, NY. For directions or information, call the Temple at 914-723-7727, or email:
