Hastings-on-Hudson, NY - The First Unitarian Society of Westchester invites children in kindergarten through 5th grade to join its free Sunday morning summer program, “Caring for Our Planet Earth.”
This program, portions of which will be held outdoors when weather permits and which will focus on nature and the environment, will be held on Sundays from June 15 to August 24 (July 6 excluded) from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at 25 Old Jackson Avenue in Hastings on Hudson. A nursery will be provided for younger children.
“We’re very excited about this program, and we wanted to make sure that parents and children in Westchester County know about it,” says John Cavallero, Director of Religious Education at the First Unitarian Society of Westchester. “We think that holding part of the session outdoors will make it more appealing to children. And we also hope to encourage children to expand their exposure to and relationship with nature and the environment, to understand on a more personal level their relationship to and place in the world around them.”
