New Rochelle, NY - The United Hebrew Geriatric Center (UHGC) announced that its Board of Directors has elected Rita Mabli president of UHGC. She will continue to serve as UHGC's Chief Executive Officer.
Mabli, who has been with UHGC for more than thirty years, will also serve as a voting member of the United Hebrew Geriatric Center Board of Directors and the UGC Foundation Board. The UGC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports UHGC in its mission to provide the highest quality of care in a nurturing environment to seniors throughout Westchester County and the surrounding areas.
Since she began her career at UHGC in 1976, Mabli has held a variety of positions there, including human resources director, associate administrator; vice president and chief operating officer; and executive vice-president. She is also the CEO of Willow Towers, UHGC's assisted living facility, and oversees the Low-Savin Residence/Soundview Apartments for independent seniors and the community-based home health care services.
"Rita has demonstrated her commitment to the advancement of our campus, and her skills and acumen have proven extremely beneficial to our programs and community initiatives. Rita is truly deserving of this promotion and recognition," said Malcolm Lazarus, Chairman of the UHGC Board of Directors.
A member of the Corporate Council of the City of New Rochelle, Mabli also serves as executive Board Member of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce. She is a founder and co-president of the Women in Business program of the Chamber. She is a past president of the Association of Westchester & Rockland Long Term Care Administrators; a board member of the Westchester Department of Senior Programs and Services Public Private Partnership; and is a member and fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators. She is also a Board Member and past secretary of the New York Health Care Alliance.
Mabli has received numerous awards for her work, including the Woman of Excellence Award and Corporate Professional of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce of the City of New Rochelle and a Leadership Award of the American Jewish Congress.
An active member of the community, Mabli also has served as Vice President of New Rochelle's Holy Name School PTO; Coordinator, Ministry of Lectors and Lay Eucharist Minister of Holy Name Church, New Rochelle.
Mabli resides in New Rochelle with her husband and daughter.
