Westchester Community NewsMt. Kisco, NY - If you’re counting the many reasons to take a Westchester County “staycation” this summer, here’s something for your must-do list: come to Playland Park in Rye to celebrate Westchester Community Days, an all-new program that means great “2-for-1” Fun Band offers and discounts on all-new DragonWear apparel for Westchester residents.

Every Tuesday in August, any Westchester resident can stop at the reception table near the Fountain Plaza at the park’s main entrance between 12 noon and 8 p.m. and show proof of Westchester County residency to receive a coupon for “2-for-1” Fun Bands (a 50% discount) for Playland’s popular six-hour, unlimited ride wristbands, which they will then redeem at the sales booth. Each family will also receive a DragonWear coupon for $5 off a purchase of $15 or more at the Dragon Wagon, where Playland tee shirts, sweatshirts, backpacks and rain ponchos featuring Playland’s famous dragon “Coaster” are sold.

The special is based on two Fun Bands for the regular $35 face value and cannot be combined with any other offer or special. Limit one offer per every two people to a maximum of three per family. A Westchester County Park Pass, driver’s license or other valid form of photo identification, or a utility bill are acceptable forms of proof of county residency.

Dates of Westchester Community Days are August 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Westchester Community Days are sponsored by Westchester County Parks, The Journal News/LoHud.com; LoHudmoms.com; and LoHud.com/cozi.
Playland, now celebrating its 80th season, is owned and operated by Westchester County Parks. Playland Park is America’s first totally planned amusement park and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

Admission to Playland is free; weekday parking is $5 per car.

Playland can be reached via the New England Thruway (I-95), Playland Parkway exit 19. For more information, call 914-813-7010 or visit Playland at www.RyePlayland.org.
