Music Conservatory Welcomes New Board Members

Westchester Community NewsWhite Plains, NY - Dr. Caroline Bauman and Ms. Lisa Pine have been selected to join the Board of Trustees of the Music Conservatory of Westchester, a non-profit community school of the arts, providing music, theatre education, and music therapy for people of all ages and abilities.

The appointments were announced by Dr. Aaron Flagg, Executive Director.

Longtime board member and president of the Westchester Chamber Music Society (WCMS), Dr. Caroline Bauman has made an indelible mark on the cultural and musical life of Westchester County. Dr. Bauman, a pediatrician based in White Plains, has paralleled her illustrious professional career with more than forty years of dedicated service to the musical arts. Herself a musician, she has produced more than 200 concerts with WCMS, providing access to the finest musicians in the world to three generations of audiences. Dr. Bauman was honored by the Music Conservatory of Westchester with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. She holds a B.S. from New York University and an M.D. from SUNY Downstate Medical School. Dr. Bauman currently resides in Rye, NY. She has three grown children, all who studied piano and violin, and six grandchildren.

Lisa Pine is currently the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Axis Promotions & Events. She oversees the merchandise branding initiatives for many major companies including pharmaceutical, financial, and consumer industries. Prior to her venture into sales promotion in 1988, Ms. Pine helped create the music therapy program at the Music Conservatory of Westchester. Along with Laura Calzolari, she initiated the first music therapy outreach effort in Westchester County and also established an onsite individual program. Ms. Pine was honored for her efforts at the Music Therapy Institute’s 20 th anniversary celebration in 2007. She holds a B.M. in Voice from Boston University’s School of Music and received her M.A. in Music Therapy from New York University. Ms. Pine currently resides in New Rochelle with her husband Philip, and is the mother of two children, Taryn and Jake, who are both attending college.

“Dr. Bauman and Ms. Pine’s impressive backgrounds will bring new and great perspectives to the Music Conservatory of Westchester ,” said Aaron Flagg, Executive Director. “Both are longtime advocates of the musical arts, having given their time and talents for decades. We are pleased to welcome them to the Board.”

Founded in 1929, the Music Conservatory of Westchester a non-profit community school of the arts, providing music, theatre education, and music therapy for people of all ages and abilities. The Conservatory’s 36,000-square-foot facility in White Plains offers a Recital Hall and 43 acoustically designed classrooms and teaching studios. Their comprehensive programs, which serve 3,000 students annually, include performing ensembles, musicianship classes, student performances, master classes, workshops, and more.
