White Plains, NY - The City of White Plains and the Westchester Arts Council is proud to welcome the "Know Your History" Mobile Tour to White Plains on Friday, February 29, 2008.
The "mobile museum" will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. at the City Hall Parking Lot (adjacent to City Hall).
The "Know Your History" Mobile Tour exhibit includes:
● An exhibit featuring American Legacy’s covers over the past 13 years which highlight the depth and magnitude of African-American history and culture in America.
● A photo exhibit featuring famous African-American women such as Rosa Parks, Aretha Franklin, Myrlie Evers, Betty Shabazz, Eartha Kitt, Lena Horne and others by renowned photographer Leroy Henderson.
● An exhibit that includes the original article “The Great Debaters” which appeared in the 1997 Spring issue of American Legacy.
● American Legacy’s “Black History Trivia Wheel” – attendees will be able to test their knowledge of African-American history and win
prizes.
● Genealogy Kiosk -attendees will be able to search for their ancestors by using the 1930 census.
