 Mt. Kisco, NY - The arrival of cold weather doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy fresh, home-grown herbs – you can grow them successfully indoors during the winter months. Find out how on Sunday, November 9, at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Somers.
From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Lasdon’s horticulturist, Tolly Beck, will discuss the growing requirements for a variety of popular herbs, and offer pointers on which ones are the best suited for growing indoors. So when a recipe calls for fresh rosemary, thyme, parsley, chives or other wonderful savory ingredients, you’ll be able to grab your scissors instead of the car keys!

Lasdon Park is a 234-acre park and arboretum featuring many species and collections of trees, shrubs and perennials. Memorials honoring Westchester veterans are also located at the park, along with the Westchester Veterans Museum. While at the park, stop in and browse the Garden Shop, which features a selection of plants and horticulture items and gifts.
Lasdon is a Westchester County Park and can be reached via I-684, exit 6. Head west off the exit; the park is approximately four miles ahead on the left. Or, take the Taconic State Parkway to Route 202/Route 35 exit; the park is 3.5 miles ahead on the right.
