 Larchmont, NY - Approximately 600 swimmers swam the Long Island Sound for the 16 th annual Swim Across America event on Long Island Sound in Larchmont.
The swimmers and donors raised $900,000 to benefit cancer research, treatment, and prevention for organizations in their area. Anthony Sibio, Swim Across America Board Chair and Sales Associate for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, presented the check.
Since its beginning in 1987, Swim Across America has raised over $18 million for cancer research and treatment programs. Swimmers for this year’s event met at the Larchmont Yacht Club where they took to the water. The swimmers weren’t alone. Approximately 700 volunteers and supporters waited to welcome them at the finish line at the Larchmont Shore Club.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a supporter of Swim Across America, raises funds through Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation. The Foundation collects donations through regular paycheck contributions. Sales associates and staff of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage also participated as swimmers and volunteers at this year’s fundraising event.

The proceeds from the Long Island Sound swim will be donated to the Cancer Support Team, the Tommy Palazzo Fellowship for Pediatric Oncology at New York Presbyterian Children’s Hospital, and Swim Across America Lab at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
