Westchester Community NewsMt. Kisco, NY - Learn to separate myth from reality when deciding how to integrate “green” products and services into your home, business or school during the next Conservation Café, titled “Green vs Greenwash,” on Friday, October 30, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., in the Butcher Suite at the Kessel Student Center at Pace University in Pleasantville.

Naturalists, environmentalists, students and the public are invited to share the knowledge of people who work in the field of green products and services. Topics and speakers are:

- “Greenwashing” by Patricia Wood, Executive Director, Grassroots Environmental Education and Visiting Scholar, Adelphi University
- “Corporate Social Responsibility” by Dr. Larry Bridwell, Professor of International Business and chair of the Graduate Management and International Business programs, Pace University
- “Government Procurement Successes and Challenges” by Lea Cullen, sustainability coordinator for Westchester County Parks

Following the program, attendees are invited to participate in an open discussion from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Angelo Spillo, Director of the Pace University Environmental Center, will moderate.

Advance registration is requested by calling (914) 864-7047. Beverages will be served; participants should bring their own coffee mug. Carpooling is encouraged.

The Conservation Café and Conversations on Conservation (CoC) provide a forum for dialogue about current environmental issues.  Private citizens, members of concerned organizations, municipal planners and others hear the latest information and have an opportunity to network.

Sponsors are Westchester County’s Parks and Planning departments, Pace University, Friends of Westchester County Parks, Teatown Lake Reservation, Westchester Land Trust, Greenburgh Nature Center, and Federated Conservationists of Westchester County.

Pace University is located on Bedford Road (Route 117) in Pleasantville. The campus is easily accessible via the Saw Mill River Parkway, Taconic State Parkway and Route 9A. Use Pace’s Entrance 3. Detailed directions to the campus are available at www.pace.edu.
