Dobbs Ferry, NY - On Tuesday, March 10th, 6:15 pm, Chabad House at 303 Broadway in Dobbs-Ferry will be celebrating the holiday in a unique style. Rabbi Benjy Silverman, Chabad of the Rivertowns, invites the entire community to come to Purim in Bubble Land-an exciting world of bubbles and fun.
One major highlight of the party will be a unique performance by Casey Carle’s of Bubblemania - BubbleMania is loaded with visual comedy, quick wit, big band swing music and the untamed, often unbelievable qualities and beauty of spherical liquids. Casey's creations grow from intricate and imaginative bubble artforms to "trapping" people inside bubbles.
With over 350 BubbleMania! shows a year, Casey Carle**, a “one-man phenomenon”, has proven that soap bubbles are not just for popping anymore!
Refreshments and light dinner will be served.
“Purim is the one time of year when even serious people "let go" a bit. So the bubble theme is definitely in synch with the theme of the holiday.” , says Rabbi Silverman. “And if we hear a little “bubble popping” when we read Haman’s name from the Book of Esther, we won’t be surprised.”
Purim is a Jewish holiday, which originates from a miraculous event which occurred to the Jewish nation under the rule of the Ancient Persian Empire over 2,00o years ago. It celebrated their salvation from Haman’s wicked plot to kill all of the Jews, through the Jewish Heroine, Queen Esther and of course G-d’s guiding hand.
During the reading of the Book of Esther, there will be a multi-media presentation and of course plenty of graggers to go around. Children are encouraged to attend in costume.
“Purim in Bubble land” is open to all, $25 family $10 single. Donations are welcome.
