 Rye, NY - The Osborn invites you to a special "Meet the Authors" event followed by The Osborn's "Centennial Centenarians" Tea on Thursday, March 13th at 2:00 pm in The Osborn auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
The Osborn is celebrating the start of its second century with the release of its much anticipated book Images of America: The Osborn (Arcadia Publishing) which recounts the many fascinating details and human interest stories associated with the founding and first 100 years of The Osborn. The book's co-authors, Mark R. Zwerger, Chief Executive Officer, Janet M. Malang, Sterling Park Manager, and Andrew F. Horn, Dining Services Director, will speak about the fascinating history of The Osborn, its founder, Miriam A. Osborn, her attorney John Sterling who made her vision a reality, and the many residents who have called The Osborn 'home'. Learn about Miriam Osborn's connections to the legendary architect Stanford White and Fay Templeton, famous American actress of the Gay Nineties. Find out why John Sterling, Yale graduate and founding partner of Shearman & Sterling, made frequent trips by train from his office at 55 Wall Street in New York City to Theall's Hill in Rye.
This recently published book is one of a series of books published by Arcadia Publishing celebrating the history of neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase books for $20 each and have them signed by the authors. All proceeds from the book are designated for the Charity Care Program at The Osborn.
