Bedford NY - The Bedford Environmental Summit – Path to Sustainability, a day of information, inspiration and action, will be held January 31, 2009, 8:00am – 4:30pm, at Fox Lane High School, Bedford NY.
The Bedford Environmental Summit will offer a full day of informative lectures and workshops addressing issues such as oil consumption, school food, a climate action plan for Bedford, locally supported agriculture and school and community gardens.
With a roster of speakers representing some of the best minds on environmental policy, it will provide attendees with a better understanding of global and local environmental issues; information about local green resources; and specific action steps for what they can do within their community.
An Expo of approximately 50 booths will provide a hands-on opportunity to experience the work of non-profits, businesses, student and community organizations that are advancing the environmental cause. A locavore lunch will demonstrate the viability of the local sustainable food movement. Throughout the day, the Summit will promote ongoing, individual and collaborative actions to create a sustainable Bedford community.
Join hundreds of your neighbors at the Bedford Environmental Summit and find out how you can make a difference, starting in your own backyard.
Tickets for the event are $25 in advance and $35 on the day of the event. Student tickets are $10. For ticket information go to www.sustainablebedford.org.
