Scarsdale, NY - Asaf Selinger, an Information Officer at the Consulate General of Israel in New York, will give a talk on Sunday morning, January 25, at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale.
Mr. Selinger’s talk will feature comments on the military conflict in Gaza and the upcoming Israeli elections. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include a bagel breakfast.
Prior to his service at the Consulate, Mr. Selinger worked as a reporter for the Israeli newspaper Maariv in Jerusalem, covering education and the environment. He was also a reporter for the IDF radio Galei Zahal, reporting on environmental issues.
Mr. Selinger took part in the news coverage of some of Israel's major events of the past decade, including the Second Lebanon War, the Second Intifada, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's rise to power in 2001 and his declining health.
During Israel's disengagement from Gaza in 2005, Mr. Selinger worked as a news reporter in the West Bank settlements of Homesh and Sanur. His last assignment in Israel before joining the Consulate was the terrorist attack on Yeshiva Merkaz Ha'Rav in Jerusalem.
