Yonkers, NY - The Anti-Racist Alliance of Westchester County begins it's Undoing Racism Community Series with the presentation of “Why are People Poor? What We can do about it”.
Headlining the event are two national speakers who will share their analysis of the issue. The two speakers are David Billings, Core Trainer of the Peoples Institute for Survival and Beyond and Meizhu Lui, co-author of “The Color of Wealth”
David Billings has conducted "Undoing Racism" workshops since 1983 as a member of The People's Institute's training team. A United Methodist minister, Billings has served churches in New Orleans, Louisiana and the Bronx, New York. He is co-founder of European Dissent and also is the founder of the Greater New Orleans Urban Ministries. He will present “Why are People Poor?”
Meizhu Lui past Executive Director of United for a Fair Economy, a national nonpartisan one that campaigns against growing income and wealth inequality and inspires action to reduce economic inequality. She will present “The Color of Wealth.”
