Pomona, NY - If you share love with a canine, then this is the place to be … Kennedy Dells Park in New City for the 5th annual event “Doggie Day in the Park” (formerly “Dog Walk”).
The event will be held Sunday, October 19th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. This is a non-competitive, family event presented by the Hudson Valley Humane Society and Nanuet Rotary Club. Registered participants will enjoy a fun-filled day with lots of surprises. The day’s agenda will include a wide array of fun, interactive opportunities for canines and their human counterparts.
Some highlights include:
* Bring home the gold, silver or bronze in the county’s 2nd annual Doggie Olympics (no experience necessary).
* Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest at Matterhorn Nursery’s display complete with free digital photo.
* Free T-Shirt complements of Provident Bank for the first 150 registered participants ($20 advance fee; $25 at the curb) while supplies last.
* Canine Good Citizen Test by certified evaluator Jen Basile of “The Dog Coach LLC” ($20 separate fee, registration in advance requested but not required).
* Sheep herding demonstrations with master herder, Ken Freson and friends.
* Contests: “Musical Beds” – “Boxer Short Races”
* 1st Annual Pup Bowl with official Ruff-A-Rees!
* Join us for Bobbin’ for Bisquits
* Free Doggie Nail Trim!
* Obedience demonstrations led by top trainers from “Canine Coaching” and meet “Willie” who will show off his best tricks for the crowd. Then show off your dog’s talent in the “Best Trick” competition at the Canine Coaching ring!
* Free ID tag for all pets from the Hudson Valley Humane Society.
* HVHS Humane Law Enforcement Agents will be on hand for Q&A. Help them get the bad guys!
* There will be door prizes and raffles including lots of cool gifts including autographed sports memorabilia, pro sports tickets and more!
* Free Goodies – aren’t they fun!
* Join us and try your paws at something new and fun for the whole family!

or download from www.hvhumane.org or call 845-942-1382. “Doggie Day in the Park” is a joint effort between the HVHS and the Nanuet Rotary Club; proceeds are shared equally. The HVHS will use 100% of its proceeds towards the animals in their care. The Rotary will fund their “Gift of Life” program where a child from another country is brought to the US for medical treatment and/or procedure.
