Purchase, NY - Those desiring to learn more about managing finances, savings, and establishing good credit have a new resource at their fingertips.
The Select Savers Club, founded in 2006 and open to the public, is a not-for-profit club designed to educate and empower its members with financial knowledge.
The club, an affiliate of Quorum Federal Credit Union, provides a lifetime membership with a $5 fee. Members receive a variety of benefits including a quarterly newsletter detailing common financial pitfalls and tips on how to avoid them. Topics in past issues have included protecting credit during holiday shopping, getting the most out of tax refunds, and identity theft prevention tips. Select Savers are also eligible to participate in a series of seminars, where they can learn how to become financially independent.
Members of the Select Savers Club will have access to the club website, www.selectsavers.org. The website, which will be launched in late June 2007, offers members the convenience of "one-stop shopping" for financial information.
The club’s resources aren’t limited to adults. On June 28, the Select Savers Club will host an event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester geared toward children ages six through eight. The youngsters will be taught the building blocks of financial education in a fun, entertaining atmosphere.
