Pro Tile Distributors, Inc. has supplied tile, stone, terrazzo and related materials to the professional tile installers since 1997. Pro Tile’s business goal is to focus on, and support the professionals in the tile and stone industry and enjoy success through their success.
ProTile representatives, vendors, and trade organizations will make this event a valuable day of education and celebration for all. Success through education is the theme - everyone learns in a relaxed, fun, supportive, interactive environment. Guests are welcome to visit anytime to meet with factory representatives, observe practical product demonstrations and review the highest quality tile and stone materials at presentation booths . . . and of course, food, refreshments, prizes and gifts . . . hosted by Pro Tile.
Representatives from the following companies: Aqua Mix, Alpha Tools, Casalgrande Padana, Compac Stone, Eliane, FAP, Impronta Italgraniti, Mapei, Margraf, Metropolitan Ceramics, The Noble Company, Schluters Systems, United States Ceramics (ROCA) Vitra, Hydro Seal, Tile Contractors Association of America . . . will travel in from all over the United States to participate in a world-class tradeshow.
The International Masonry Institute (IMI) will present two continuing education programs: “Porcelain Tile and Glass Mosaic Installation” and “Terrazzo – Application & Design”. These programs meet the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) criteria for continuing professional education. Both courses are extraordinary, counting for Health/Safety/Welfare (HSW) credits. Through participation in lecture and demonstration, project specifiers can best understand important issues (floor preparation, sound control abatement, waterproofing methods and materials) that ultimately affect the success of tile and stone installations.
Terrazzo floor systems have the longest life cycle value of any flooring material used today. Traditional cement terrazzo, epoxy terrazzo and a new generation of low VOC, flow-able grade, polymer modified cement terrazzo - which promises to change how we use terrazzo today – will be demonstrated by skilled IMI trades.
The International Masonry Institute (IMI) offers free technical assistance to the design and construction communities, professional education for masonry contractors, and skilled training for craftworkers. IMI also offers custom project-specific advice, through its regional Technical Service offices, which can be reached at 1-800-IMI-0988, or www.imiweb.org. IMI is a strategic alliance between the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) and their signatory contractors to promote quality masonry construction.
An interesting side story relayed by Enrico Rossi, regarding Margraf: “As you probably have heard, World Trade Center and World Financial Center were made almost entirely of fior di Pesco carnico (marble) whose quarry belongs to Margraf and that I had the duty to resupply recently in the winter garden. If you happen to go downtown check all the buildings of the World Financial Center, those are entirely made by Margraf.”
To quote Lou Giannini: “We mark this day among friends and neighbors and immersed in immeasurable bounty. These are happy times and it is an honor to share this occasion with so many who have offered ongoing belief and commitment to ProTile. As a work in progress we look forward to building upon the strong foundation that has supported us for the past decade. “
