 Bronxville, NY - Building on its recent successes for those with foreclosure issues, Begos Horgan & Brown LLP has added a Bankruptcy practice area. The firm is now a debt relief agency, helping people and businesses file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
“Our work with those in distress over their mortgages has naturally lead us into other issues involving clients who are being pressed by creditors,” says Attorney Christopher Brown, head of the new practice area and chair of the firm’s Debtor/Creditor practice group. “We have been counseling both individuals and businesses about complicated financial problems since 1998, and have generally view bankruptcy as a last resort. We’re finding that we may be at the last resort in today’s turbulent economic times. This new practice has developed in response to those concerns.”
This practice area involves the issues that arise as business and individuals consider whether bankruptcy is appropriate for them. “For those struggling with economic issues, bankruptcy is only one of many strategies to help them regain their financial footing,” says Attorney Brown. “We work with them to decide whether or not bankruptcy is an appropriate step or if there are better alternatives in their situation.” In addition, the practice helps debtors for whom bankruptcy is appropriate to decide which form will work for them and represents them in the bankruptcy process that plays out in court.
