 Rye, NY - Lester's, the family-owned and operated specialty store providing fashions for the family, announces the addition of its newest store in Rye.
Opening on August 12, Lester's brings 60 years of style, service and selection to its newest locale. Occupying over 10,000 square feet, the store will offer the extensive selection of name brand clothing, shoes, accessories and camp outfitting that has made Lester's the premiere one-stop shopping destination for fashion forward families since opening its first store in Brooklyn in 1948.
Whether shopping for newborn items or formal wear, the Lester's name is synonymous with style. Outfitting infants and young adults through contemporary women with sought-after styles and brands, including Splendid, Junk Food, C&C California, Seven for All Mankind, J Brand, Paige Premium Denim, Free People Michael Stars, Ed Hardy and hundreds more, the store is a head-to-toe destination for the entire family. The business is operated by co-owners and family members Sheri and Perry Schorr, daughter and son-in law, and Barry Cohen, nephew of the stores' original founders. With locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Greenvale, Huntington and Deal New Jersey, Lester's is proud to expand into Westchester. "So many of our third generation customers' grown children have recently moved to Westchester with their own families, so it is a thrill and a natural extension of our business to open up our newest location in Rye," said Cohen.
Lester's has come a long way since its founders, Lester and Lillian Kronfeld, opened up their first 300 sq. foot shop in Brooklyn over 60 years ago. "It was a neighborhood business," said Cohen. "Lillian and Lester knew everyone by name. They used to hand deliver garments to people's homes. It was all about customer service then and it is that intimate experience and neighborhood feel that remain the cornerstone of our business today."
