White Plains, NY - The Business Council of Westchester – the county’s largest business membership organization – has issued a call for nominations for The Westchester County Business Hall of Fame.
Established in 2002, the Business Hall of Fame awards program recognizes the lifetime achievements of Westchester County businesses in five categories: small business, entrepreneurs, corporate citizens, family-owned companies and women in business.
Members of the business community are encouraged to nominate a client, colleague, vendor, friend or their own business; finalists must be members of The Business Council of Westchester. Nominations are accepted online only, at http://www.westchesterny.org/grow/hofnominate.html, and must be submitted by January 15, 2010.
“It is critical to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of Westchester’s top businesses, to make sure they know we’re grateful for everything they do, and the fact that they do it here in Westchester County,” said Business Council President/CEO Dr. Marsha Gordon. “Equally as important is the example these businesses set: it’s my hope that we can all be inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit, innovative ideas and generous nature of the nominees and award winners.”
The Corporate Citizenship Award is presented to a company that has made a significant contribution and commitment to the Westchester community, including fostering economic opportunity; cultivating collaborations and partnerships; facilitating community involvement in its own organization; and working to build a more sustainable (green) business. Past winners include The Dorf Law Firm, Co-Communications and Famous Famiglia.
