Bird And Bottle Inn Announces Zagat Rating

Westchester Business NewsGarrison, NY - The historic Bird & Bottle Inn in Garrison recently received a "very good to excellent" rating from Zagat.com.

The high rating follows closely on the heels of the Inn's first Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for its wine list.

In the Zagat Survey, The Bird & Bottle received a 23 rating for food, a 24 for decor and a 22 for service. The review highlights state that "It's like 'stepping back' to 'Colonial times' at this 18th-century Garrison inn full of 'hypnotic fireplaces' and 'old-world charm,' so first 'feel the history' (and maybe spot the 'female ghost'), then sup on 'excellent,' up-to-date New American fare . . . given the 'caring staff,' it's 'perfect for a romantic dinner,' and 'well worth' 'a drive' for the weekend brunch."

"We were fortunate to have Douglas Gardner join us as executive chef earlier this year," said Innkeeper Elaine Margolis. "He has developed a wide range of menus and brought a new level of creativity to the kitchen, which have earned us the Zagat rating as well as rave reviews from our patrons."

The Bird & Bottle, located in the scenic Hudson Highlands, has been welcoming travelers with traditional Hudson Valley hospitality since 1761. Diners and overnight guests enjoy the ambiance of yesteryear, with the inn's beamed ceilings, wide plank floors, wood burning fireplaces and antiques throughout. The Bird & Bottle Inn is well-known as an important historic landmark and for its award-winning food and wine.

The Bird & Bottle Inn is located on Route 9 in Garrison, just 10 miles north of the Bear Mountain Bridge, 30 miles north of White Plains and 50 miles north of midtown Manhattan. Dinner is served at The Bird & Bottle Thursdays through Saturdays from 6 to 10 pm and Sundays from 4 to 8 pm. A champagne brunch is served on Sundays from 11:30 am to 3 pm. Charming overnight lodgings can be found in three rooms upstairs in the main building, plus a separate cottage on the property.
